Dry Ridge Farm
Dry Ridge Farm is a small-scale diversified family farm that produces high – quality, humanely raised beef, pork, and eggs in Mars Hill, North Carolina. They raise their animals on pasture with an emphasis on sustainability, environmental stewardship, transparency, and animal welfare.Their birds are on fresh grass ALL THE TIME. Yes, they have a shelter, so they can come in out of the rain and blazing sun, but they spend their days eating bugs from the fields, scratching seeds between blades of grass, taking dust baths and chilling in the shade of their trees. They get to be happy chickens, and happy chickens produce excellent eggs.Their feed is milled by the Sevierville Farmers Coop and delivered through the farmer’s coop in Waynesville, NC. They work with the Coop because they source a lot of their grains from regional farmers, are owned by farmers (including Dry Ridge!), and because their chicken nutritionist is able to advise on feed changes based on laying hen age and weather changes, so they can provide their hens with optimal nutrition year-round.
