Jay and Gwen, Asheville residents for over 15 years, bring a wealth of knowledge in permaculture, agro-ecology, and plant biology. Gwen's farming journey began in 2006 at the Aprovecho Institute in Oregon before relocating to Asheville. With a background in woodworking, permaculture design, and a B.S. in Biology, she's pursuing a Master's in Horticulture. Jay, hailing from Marion, NC, combines a UNCA Photography degree with civil engineering expertise. Both avid mushroom identifiers at the Asheville Mushroom Club, they're committed to promoting community food security through affordable, medicinal, and nutritious mushrooms, while bolstering the local food economy and preserving resources in their bioregion.
