Cottle Farm
Herbie Cottle is the owner of Cottle Organics. In the 1940s his great grandfather named the 300-acre farm Cottle's Tip Top. The farm dropped the "Tip Top" name for a number of years, but Herbie rekindled the name to pay homage to his roots. Herbie's reasons for moving towards organics are mostly personal, striving for "better stewardship of the land," he says. "I am not using harmful chemicals that affect people and the environment." Herbie began farming just three acres organically in 2007 and quickly increased to 20 certified organic acres in 2008. Now in 2022, Herbie grows approximately 350 acres of organic produce.
